Woven

For brands and stores

How Woven shows products to the people who use it, and how we work with stores.

What Woven is

Woven is an iPhone app for the clothes people already own. Members photograph their closet, and Woven suggests what to wear from it, for the weather and the day they're having, and remembers what they wore.

Its Discover tab suggests pieces worth adding: the everyday pieces that would go with the most of what someone owns, each with the number of outfits it would make and the clothes of theirs it goes with.

How products appear

Under each suggestion, Woven can show a few real listings for that piece: the store's own product photo, the brand, the price and the store. Tapping one opens the store's product page. Buying happens on the store's site, under its terms.

A listing is always for the piece being suggested, so people see it at the moment they are looking for exactly that.

How they are chosen

Suggestions are ranked by how well a piece works with the person's own closet, and nothing else. Commission rates never reach the code that ranks them.

  • No store can pay to be suggested, or to move up.
  • A good piece is shown even when it earns us nothing.
  • Listings are chosen after the suggestions are ranked, from the suggested piece alone.

Disclosure

Wherever a store's products appear, the app says, in plain words: "We may earn a commission. It never changes what we show you." Our terms and privacy policy say the same, and how affiliate links work.

What we never do

  • Coupon or voucher codes, or cashback.
  • Paid search on a brand's name.
  • Rewards or incentives for clicking.
  • Posting links by email or on social media.
  • Sharing anything about a person or their closet with a store or an affiliate network. A closet stays on its owner's phone.

Who uses it

Members: people who pay for Woven on iPhone, in the United States first, who care about clothing, shoes and accessories, including secondhand.
